SARASOTA – The Founders Club, a private golf club and residential community, has hired two experienced golf professionals to enhance its member services.

As the new head golf professional, Anne McClure brings more than 25 years of teaching and golf management skills to her position. “My goal is to continue the high level of professionalism at The Founders Club while working with members to improve their golf skills and increase their overall enjoyment of the game,” she said.

A Class A PGA member since 1995, McClure served as a seasonal member of the golf team at The Founders Club for the past four winters, and has served as head teaching golf professional and assistant golf professional in Florida and Maine. She attended the University of Hawaii on an athletic scholarship in golf and basketball.

Joel Rasho was named first assistant and tournaments director at the traditional Sarasota golf club. A Michigan native, Rasho joined The Founders Club staff in 2013 after seven years at a Sarasota golf resort. As first assistant, he will serve as tournament director while supporting day-to-day golf operations.

“Anne and Joel have proved to make a terrific team,” said Bob LeFever, general manager of The Founders Club. “We are very lucky to have such outstanding and dedicated individuals at our club.” With only 275 golf memberships, The Founders Club offers year-round enjoyment of its 18-hole Robert Trent Jones Jr.-designed golf course with no tee time required.

With 700 beautifully landscaped acres just minutes from beaches, shopping and dining, The Founders Club is Sarasota’s premier golf and country club community, featuring 262 homes, each with golf, lake or preserve views. The community’s amenities include a plantation-style clubhouse and miles of winding boardwalks and paved walkways that foster a connection with nature. The club also offers a vibrant, active social calendar and an in-season reciprocal partnership with Sarasota Yacht Club. The Founders Club took top honors at the 2015 Parade of Homes, including Best Overall Community, Best Amenities, and Best Entranceway.
