SEAN JACKLIN QUALIFIES FOR FIRST PGA TOUR EVENT, MISSES CUT

Sean Jacklin, the 25-year-old son of British legend Tony Jacklin, qualified for this past weekend’s PGA Tour event but missed the cut after shooting rounds of 71 and 74 in the OHL Classic at Mayakoba in Mexico..

Born in Biggar, Scotland but raised in Manatee County,  Jacklin has honed his game on the West Florida Golf Tour, the University of North Carolina and in Europe.

Jacklin was named after actor Sean Connery and hopes to play one day for Europe in the Ryder Cup.

His father was the co-designer with Jack Nicklaus of the Concession Golf Club in East Manatee County..  Tony won the 1969 British Open and the 1970 U.S. Open. He resides in Manatee County and is an honorary member of the Concession.
