Tyson Duane, general manager of The Mainlands Golf Club in Pinellas Park, will host the FIRST Mainlands Golf Club Charity Golf-A-Thon on Monday, August 13th. Here are the details:

Who: Teams of 2 golfers representing their respective businesses and/or organizations. There is space for up to 18 teams.

What: A marathon day of golf. Each Team finds sponsors for their cause. Each sponsor signs up to donate a predetermined amount of money per hole completed by the team. The cost is whatever amount the sponsor is comfortable with, from a quarter a hole on up.

Teams will start golf at 7:30 AM and play alternate-shot format, playing as many holes as they wish. At the end of the day, the total number of holes will be added up to determine how much money each team has raised for their charity. Prizes will be awarded to the top team in each of three categories: Most Money Raised for charity, Most Holes Played, and Lowest Average Score.

When: Monday, August 13th with a rain date of Monday, August 20th.

Where: The Mainlands Golf Club, 9445 Mainlands Boulevard W., Pinellas Park, Florida 33782.

Why: This could be the start of an annual event, allowing different businesses and organizations in the Tampa Bay community to come together to help support the causes and charities that concern them the most.

How Much: This event is for charity. The only cost charged is to the participating teams, a nominal $15 per person, which will cover some of the cost of food and prizes. The course will be closed to the public on this day.

This is truly a win-win-win scenario for all involved. You are cordially invited to assemble a 2-man team and be a part of this event. Hopefully, it will grow into an annual charity bonanza!

To Register: To register call The Maiinlands Pro Shop at (727) 577-4847 or email: [email protected]. Registration deadline is Wednesday, August 1, 2018.
