Coral Oaks Golf Course to Host PGA HOPE for Third Time

PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) is the flagship military program for the South Florida PGA Foundation, designed through the PGA of America foundation and PGA Reach, to introduce golf to Veterans with disabilities in an effort to enhance their physical, mental, social and emotional well-being. Through PGA HOPE programming, the SFPGA Foundation is in position to make a more meaningful impact on the lives of America’s military veterans. As many veterans struggle with the transition back into civilian life, the game of golf delivers a new level of enjoyment. This is the third PGA HOPE program offered to veterans in Cape Coral and Veterans & Active Military Personnel are invited to attend the program that is taught by local PGA & LPGA Professionals.

The event is taking place at Coral Oaks Golf Course in Cape Coral, Florida now through April 3rd, Wednesdays from 10am to 12pm. Coral Oaks is an 18-hole, Arthur Hills designed championship golf course built within a century old oak hammock. The 6,223 yard course boasts large TifEagle greens, contoured fairways and rich natural surroundings. Eight lakes and 37 bunkers add to the allure of the entertaining and challenging layout for golfers of all levels. Allen Mangusen, PGA, is the longtime Director of Golf at the city-owned Coral Lakes Golf Course and he and his friendly staff are there to help make your experience at Coral Oaks a good one.

In addition to the par 72 course, it has one of the largest practice facilities in the area, featuring a driving range with both grass and artificial turf, 6 target greens and 300 yards of distance. To lower your score, the short game/chipping area provides ample opportunity for golfers to improve their money strokes inside 50 yards. The TifEagle practice putting green provides the identical consistency as the courses’ 18 greens, so it is important to warm up putting before heading out.

Before your round, at the turn or after your game, Knickers Pub serves breakfast and lunch daily with cold libations to refresh the players while figuring out the winners and losers. Every Day is A Good Day at Coral Oaks. Check it out at CapeCoral.net/CoralOak.
